Personally, I am calm about the exterior design of the Japanese brand, there are no “wow” elements in it for me, and the Koreans now look no worse, and in some ways even better, take for example a competitor in the person of Kia K5. But as sales show, many people like Japanese design, apparently, someone is still caught by these swift lines, narrowed, very good, fully LED headlights and tricky stampings on the body.

The interior of the Camry, in my opinion, is more interestingexterior. The front panel is multi-tiered with complex transitions and a variety of different details, and the driver's seat is visually separated from the rest of the cabin. There are no questions about materials and build quality. On top we have soft plastic, below - discreet decorative inserts, even lower - elements sheathed in leather, and outside the field of view - already hard, but durable and high-quality plastic panels. It is surprising, of course, to see this in a Japanese car, but there are very significant flaws in ergonomics. For example, the buttons for turning on the heating of the windshield and the steering wheel are hidden behind the steering column on the left, you have to look for them on the go by touch, while the buttons are flat and the same size. The keys of the three-level heating of the front seats are located so that on the go you have to twist your hand to reach them. And the display of the media system is not turned a millimeter towards the driver, although this would be logical. In addition, the manufacturer followed fashion trends and added black glossy plastic to the interior, which quickly becomes covered with small scratches, losing its marketable appearance, noticeably stains, and even rubs off poorly.

A person will comfortably sit behind the wheel of a caralmost any height and build, all adjustments are enough here, only tall drivers will complain about a short pillow without the possibility of adjusting its length. The driver's seat in our configuration was with a full package of electrical adjustments, including electrically adjustable lumbar support. At the same time, only mechanical adjustments are offered for the front passenger.

The front seats are comfortable with the correct profile,but not strongly pronounced lateral support. They are covered with rough leather, which is not very pleasant tactile, but quite practical. In general, by properly adjusting the seat for yourself, driving a Camry can comfortably drive more than one hundred kilometers.

The trunk in our configuration did not come with an electric drive, the lid only springs slightly when opened, and that's it, then you have to act manually.

The media system in the sedan is equipped with modest in allparameters of a 9-inch touch screen, which lacks brightness and contrast, and its resolution is low. In terms of responsiveness, the screen also does not shine, but at least there are physical keys for quick access to the main sections along the edges of it. The capabilities of the system are modest, and the drawing of the menu is quite simple, plus I don’t really like fonts, they are large, but, despite this, they are not read very well on the go.

But to make an outgoing call or work with lists of radio stations / playlists, you still have to switch your attention to the main display, there are no options here.

The dashboard in the Camry is classic, withdeep wells of the tachometer and speedometer, the latter has a large, well-read markup. At the same time, the speedometer readings can be displayed on a color display between the instruments in digital form, which, in my opinion, is even more convenient. Otherwise, on the dashboard screen, we are only given the opportunity to view data, including information from the on-board computer, from the sound source and indications of the work of assistants.

As for the latter, in our configurationthey were a very modest set. In addition to the usual cruise control with convenient steering wheel controls, we had parktronics in a circle and a rear-view camera with dynamic markings, both in resolution and in picture quality, that was poor. It is not very convenient that the visual data from the parking sensors and the camera are separated, the first ones are displayed on the dashboard display, but the picture from the camera is on the main display. In addition, we had light and rain sensors in our arsenal, which work correctly, and, perhaps, that's all.

In the spring, during the transition period, it was often necessary to manually adjust the temperature, and sometimes the system turned on too active airflow, so it was necessary to reduce the intensity of its work. As options that are relevant for our climate, it is worth mentioning the heating of the steering wheel, the windshield, as well as the heating of the front and rear seats. All of these functions work flawlessly. For rear passengers, in addition, there are separate air ducts with the ability to control the direction and intensity of airflow.

As for comfort, according to this parameter, ILiked the Toyota Camry. The car is relatively quiet, only at speed the interior is filled with unobtrusive noise from the road. The suspension handles most of the bumps very delicately, so even the rear passengers don't bounce over every bump. Yes, large potholes are no longer so easy for a sedan, but nothing terrible still happens.

But what I didn’t like was the control, it is too tight, sharp maneuvers are not easy for the sedan, and it is somehow reluctant to enter turns at speed. The impression that the elements of the Camry are straight lines with smooth lane changes, a leisurely exit to the arc, here there are no questions about the car.

The sedan has a ground clearance of 155 mm, which, in general, seems to be not bad, but it is worth considering the rather low and long front overhang, especially when parking to the curbs.

Claimed fuel consumption for a sedan with 2.The 5-liter engine is 6.8 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle and 9.3 liters in the city. In the first case, I got at least 8-9 liters per 100 km, and in the second, the consumption flew away for 10 liters or more.
