Well, the week turned out to be quite rich in various news. So, on Friday, Google announced that

is shutting down its Stadia cloud service. The platform will run until January 18, 2023, and the developer will refund purchases made on the service. As they say, it did not take off, but Google has enough such unsuccessful projects, and one should not be surprised at another failure.

Realme will introduce smartphones in Russia on October 11GT Neo 3T and 9 5G. realme GT Neo 3T will be equipped with a Snapdragon 870 processor and a 5000mAh battery with support for 80W charging. And the realme 9 5G model will receive a Snapdragon 695 processor and a display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On AliExpress, sales of devices have already started, so for Neo 3T they ask from 28,000 rubles, and for realme 9 5G - at least 16,000 rubles. Microsoft has limited optionsRussian users to upgrade computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11. When a user tries to download and install an update, they go to the official website of the company, where an empty window opens on the page for downloading files for the latest version of Windows, and the download does not occur. Also, the latest update for the Windows 11 operating system, number 22H2, is not available to Russian users, which should lead to an improvement in the Explorer menu and changes to the Task Manager interface.

And Apple has removed VK applications from the App Store, already installed programs continue to work.

Xiaomi news

After a lot of teasers, Xiaomi is finallyofficially unveiled Xiaomi Civi 2 in China. It's the first Android phone to feature a tablet-shaped cutout for the selfie camera in the top center of the display, so the front of the smartphone is reminiscent of the new iPhones with a "dynamic island". The novelty comes in three standard colors: black, pink and blue, there is a special Hello Kitty Edition with an extended delivery set.

The device received a 6.55-inch curvedFHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. The screen supports a peak brightness level of 800 nits. The fingerprint sensor is located under the screen. At the heart of the smartphone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, which is paired with LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a stainless steel VC liquid cooling system.

There is a triple camera on the back, including a 50MP main sensor with OIS support, a 20MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro lens. The main highlight of the smartphone is the front camera system, which has two 32 MP sensors inside the tablet. The main sensor supports autofocus, while the secondary sensor comes with a 100-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. Civi 2 is equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a linear vibration motor, an infrared sensor and a 4500 mAh battery with support for 67 W fast wired charging. The price of the novelty starts at $335 for the 8+128 GB version and goes up to $391 for the 12+256 GB version.

Nice and quite productive device, which the manufacturer positions as a device for the beautiful half of humanity, emphasizing this in its promotional materials. It is interesting to see what quality the pictures taken on the selfie camera of the device will be, nevertheless, two 32 MP modules look good. Yes, according to rumors, the model will appear on the global market under the name Xiaomi 12 Lite NE, and it is likely that it will be shown in the near future at Xiaomi's European presentation in Munich, which will be held on October 4th.

As for the cameras in smartphones, we published the following materials this week:

We discuss the results of blind testing of cameras in Huawei Mate Xs 2 and Samsung Galaxy Fold4. Which pictures did you like best?

Last week, Izvestia wrote that the companyXiaomi is preparing to start official deliveries of its laptops to Russia. The first batches should enter the Russian market by the end of autumn 2022. Xiaomi's decision can be called timely, since after the departure of European and American manufacturers from Russia, a rather large niche has been vacated in the domestic laptop market, which the products of the Chinese manufacturer can successfully fill.

And the network has photos of the new Redmi Pad tablet, the presentation of which is expected on October 4th. It should turn out to be a good and, apparently, not very expensive bedside device.

A couple of Xiaomi devices under the Poco sub-brand lit up in our selection of new smartphones:

From iPhone to POCO and from Sony to Infinix and realme. Many new models for every taste.

Folding Vivo

Vivo has officially launched a foldableSmartphone Vivo X Fold+. As expected, the model is built on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The novelty is available in three colors - red, gray and blue, as well as with several memory options. The version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of main memory is priced at 9,999 yuan ($1,400), while the model with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of main memory is priced at 10,999 yuan ($1,540). The smartphone has a capacious 4730 mAh battery that supports 80 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. 8.03-inch internal flexible screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays of the smartphone have built-in fingerprint scanners. The Vivo X Fold + has four cameras, including a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera, two more cameras for portrait shooting and a 60x telephoto module.

A good competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 andXiaomi Mix Fold 2, the only pity is that with a high degree of probability, like the product from Xiaomi, the smartphone will not appear on the global market yet. And the price in China for X Fold + cannot be said to be affordable, and if it comes out in Europe, it will become even higher. So we can only be content with a product from a Korean manufacturer or take Chinese smartphones on Ali at our own peril and risk.

And on the site this week there was a comparison of foldable smartphones from Samsung and Huawei:

Buyer's guide. Comparison of smartphones with a flexible screen, Huawei Mate Xs 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

Comparing the flagships of Huawei and Samsung with flexible screens, two worlds and two approaches. Which one is for life, and which one is for exhibitions.

Under-screen cameras to the masses

ZTE launches affordable Axon smartphone30s with a camera under the screen. The novelty will be available in several versions - with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of main memory and in a version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of main memory. The manufacturer priced the smartphone at 1,698 yuan ($237) for the junior version. The model received a 6.9-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution, which supports a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz and provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Axon 30s is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. The photo module of the smartphone includes four image sensors - the main one at 64 MP and three more sensors at 8 MP, 5 MP, 2 MP. On the front side, under the screen, there is a 16 MP selfie camera, and there is also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen. The smartphone is powered by a 4200mAh battery and supports 55W fast charging.

All in all, an ordinary smartphone that is remarkableonly by the presence of an under-screen camera, which has not yet been encountered in devices of this price range. For those who do not like notches in the screen, Axon 30s is a good option, but do not forget that the front cameras hidden under the screen are still very much inferior in quality to classic front cameras.

Artamonov noted that the I-Joy and I-Jet crossovers and the Evolute I-Van minivan will also appear in the Evolute line. In total, the plant plans to produce 100,000 electric vehicles per year. “The task for the future is the localization of production. There is an enterprise in the region capable of launching the production of batteries. We will work in this direction,” Artamonov said.

5 curious things you need to know about the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro

Does the iPhone have prospects in Russia? Features of satellite communications, why they abandoned the physical SIM card and is the American iPhone suitable for Russia.

Well, in the Lipetsk region quicklyThey also got their bearings at the plant where Changan cars used to be assembled, and set up the production of electric vehicles under the Evolute brand. To dispel your doubts, it’s worth saying right away that under the name Evolute I-Pro, not some new domestic development is being produced, but the Dongfeng Aeolus E70 model, well-known in China, which has existed in its current form since 2019. Of ours in the new electric car, there is only a SKD assembly and our own nameplate. The price of the original in the home market starts at 155,800 yuan (approximately 1,265,000 rubles). With us, the Evolute I-Pro comes out in only one top-end configuration and will be offered at a price of 2,990,000 rubles. The first copies of the electric car should appear at dealers in October.

I try to contact Evolute representatives, but the form on the official website is so crooked that I don’t understand whether they received my request or not.

Reader with stylus

Amazon launches e-bookKindle Scribe, which is designed for reading and writing thanks to the ability to work with a stylus. The model received a 10.2-inch high-definition E Ink screen, providing a pixel density of 300 ppi. The device allows you to draw and take notes directly on the screen, and there is an imitation of the sound of paper while writing. For convenience, Kindle Scribe can be synchronized with a PC, in particular, with Microsoft Word. The stylus is attached to the book using a magnetic attachment and does not require a separate charge, similar to Apple's second-generation Pencil.

The model will be available with different memory sizes -for 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. The manufacturer will launch sales before the end of this year at a price of $340 for the basic version. A $30 Premium version of the stylus will also be available separately, which adds a programmable button and an electronic eraser for deleting notes.

An interesting device for those who often dohandwritten notes in documents, now it can be done electronically and then transferred to a PC. Plus, it is also a good reader, so that in between work you can, for example, read the new Pelevin on it. For myself, I don’t see the need for such a gadget, but Amazon recently released cool new models of regular Kindles, so I’ll have to upgrade if possible.

...and dessert

LEGO releases new Razor setCrest, the ship from The Mandalorian series, which will consist of 6,187 parts. The start of sales is scheduled for October 7, and the price of the designer will be $600.
