Content in Yandex Music will be checked automatically and manually

The Music Industry Association and Yandex Music have developed recommendations for content on music

services, they are already implemented in the musicalstreaming service from Yandex, the company's press service reports. Content will be checked for compliance with the rules in a hybrid model: first using machine learning technologies, and then manually. This will allow you to accurately identify adult content, mark it with the appropriate Explicit icon, and protect children in children's mode from such content. The system will also be used to identify content on sensitive topics that may cause discomfort to listeners. Depending on the nature of the content, it may be marked with special signs indicating an age limit, excluded from recommendations, or removed from the service.

Copyright holders whose content is found to be infringingrules, can either make changes to the content and upload again, or challenge the decision under a special procedure. In the future, Yandex Music plans to publicly report on the measures taken by the company to create a comfortable environment. In order for music services to be able to apply these recommendations, an independent expert council was created at the Research and Educational Laboratory of Linguistic Conflictology and Modern Communication Practices at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. In the near future, he will develop a methodology for applying these recommendations, and then will advise music services on difficult cases.
