Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 proved to be stronger than it seemed at first glance (video)

Zach Nelson tested the strength of SamsungGalaxy Z Fold5. He tested both displays for scratch resistance, the case for dust resistance, and the hinge for backward flexion. As it turned out, even in the open state, the phone turned out to be stronger than some traditional models.

The outer screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 is protectedCorning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. In the Mohs durability test, it showed the standard result: light scratches on the sixth center punch with deeper marks on the seventh. The inner screen is protected by a flexible film, so it is much easier to scratch it: it gave up already at the “deuce”. The presence of the film also made itself felt when tested with a lighter - it began to melt after 10 seconds of contact with fire.

The frame of the smartphone is made of aluminum, likeside buttons. They scratch quickly - but the matte back panel turned out to be more resistant to the blade of a clerical knife. At the same time, Nelson tested the device for dust resistance - for a folding smartphone, this characteristic is especially important. The Fold5 is not officially dust-resistant, but even after contact with sand, it continued to open silently and easily.

In the fracture test, the smartphone also showed a decent result: it did not bend either in the closed or in the open state, and after the test it remained fully operational.
