Samsung has developed a smartphone that bends in two places (2 photos)

Samsung, the leader in flexible smartphones,is preparing to launch its first three-section foldable phone. The company has already filed a related patent with the US Patent Office. The document describes the possible design and features of the unusual novelty.

According to the patent, the smartphone will receive two hinges that allow you to fold a large OLED screen into three equal parts, forming a zigzag shape.

Thus, the device turns from a tablet intocompact smartphone, which is convenient for viewing photos, videos and surfing the Internet in tablet mode, as well as for using in a more compact form while traveling.

In addition, the patent also describes the use of sensors and chips in the hinges of the device to determine the state of the phone.

For example, if both hinges are fully open, sensors pass this information to the processor and all user interface elements are displayed on the screen. If the phone is folded so that only one of the three parts of the screen is visible, the interface will only be displayed on that part.
