Russians began to protest against the introductionstreet face recognition system. During the rally against the violation of privacy rights in Moscow, near the presidential administration, four citizens were detained, who attempted to deceive the video surveillance system using facial makeup.

The detainees were members of the Follow movement, which started in early February and aims to protest against the use by law enforcement officers of a street identity system by person. Participants in the movement expressed their protest by using a special “coloring” of a person who could mislead a surveillance system. Thus, the protesters are trying to help people suffering from a new type of phobia - data phobia, fear of being recorded in computer databases.

In total, four protesters were detained. The detention was carried out on the basis of violation of the rules for holding mass events. After the protocol was drawn up in the China-City Department of the Interior, all protesters were released.
