Nintendo Wii and Game Boy Color integrated into a single game console (video)

The use of modern technologies allows you to transform outdated devices, breathing a second life into them. The YouTube enthusiast GingerOfMods has created an unusual gaming device that integrates the Nintendo Wii from 2006 and the Game Boy Color from 1998 to 2003. The new device was named The Wiiboy Color.

According to the inventor, a new game consoleis the result of minor changes to the Nintendo Wii design needed to create a console comparable in size to the Game Boy Color. To achieve his goal, the enthusiast reduced the Nintendo Wii motherboard and placed it in a compact body. The process of creating a hybrid compact game console is presented in the YouTube video.


The Wiiboy Color is built using3D printing, and the 3.5-inch 480p IPS display is borrowed from the car's rear view camera. The console also features a lithium-ion battery for up to 3 hours of playtime, a storage device for games, a USB-C connector for charging and transferring games, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is also an active cooling system using an exhaust fan.
