New monitor will allow blind users to "see" pictures with their fingers

Currently, completely blind and people withlow vision, limited in the use of computer technology. Existing mechanical systems for reading from the screen are either too expensive or cumbersome, or have limited capabilities that do not allow "seeing" curvilinear pictures, but only allow reading text information. BOE Technology Group, China's largest monitor manufacturer, has disclosed that it has received a patent for a completely new device for reading computer screens that allows the user to “see” with their fingers.

A new device can completely changeapproach to the work of visually impaired and blind people with computers. Getting information for such people will become easier and cheaper. The proposed design solves the problem of traditional mechanical readers with too bulky design and functionality that only reads text.

The patented device will providethe ability to receive information about complex, curvilinear patterns. The new reader for the blind consists of two components: a display with a touch panel and a touch device designed to be worn on the user's fingers. By interacting with the screen and touch sensors on the fingers, they transmit information about the image on the display through tactile feedback. As a result, people with vision problems will not only be able to read texts from the screen, but also "see" pictures and curved lines.
