As planned, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G smartphone was announced today.
Nothing new under the sun, rookie to horrorsimilar to the OPPO Reno7 5G Global smartphone announced less than two weeks ago (not to be confused with OPPO Reno7 5G China, that's different). Of the differences visible to the naked eye, there is only another front camera, it is a little simpler here. Well, in terms of the amount of memory, there are other options.
OPPO Reno7 5G Global
Briefly about the characteristics.
Chipset. Not a flagship, but a very solid MediaTek Dimensity 900. On average, smartphones based on it gain about four hundred thousand points in AnTuTu.
Memory. In India, 6+128 and 8+128 GB varieties will be sold. For Europe, so far I see only 8 + 128 GB. What will appear on AliExpress is still unclear.
Hooray, there is support for memory cards. And even a tray for a Micro-SD card was allocated a separate one.
The screen formally has a slightly diagonal than Reno. That one has 6.4″, and this one has 6.43″. But it looks more like marketing rounding errors. AMOLED-matrix, high resolution 1080 × 2400 (409 ppi), refresh rate up to 90 Hz.
The battery has a capacity of 4500 mAh. Charging is crazy, 65 watts.
Cameras. The front camera has a resolution of 16 MP versus 32 MP for Reno. Sensor - Sony IMX471. At the back is a trio of 64 + 8 + 2 MP from the main camera, wide-angle and macro. There is no official information about the sensors used. With a high degree of probability, OmniVision OV64B is the main one here. The Samsung ISOCELL GW3 is also suitable in terms of parameters. There don't seem to be any other options.
The fingerprint scanner is hidden under the screen. There is an audio output. NFC-module and the sixth Wi-Fi are available. All the LTE bands we need are supported.
And about money.
In Continental Europe, OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G will cost €349 (₽29800, $397) for the 8+128GB version. On the other side of the English Channel, the same model will cost £299 (₽30,400, $405).
In India, the price will be ₹23,999 (₽24,000, $320) and₹24,999 (₽25,000, $333) for 6+128 and 8+128 GB versions, respectively. (In the advertisements, the amount of ₹22499 (₽22500, $300) also skips, but this is with some kind of Indian “bank offer”).
The smartphone has already been issued to reviewers. As usual, I hide several videos and text reviews (so far everything is only in English) under cat. The full collection can be found on the smartphone page on our website.
