smart watch Huawei Watch 4, according to the portalHuaweicentral, citing Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group. He confirmed that the Huawei Watch 4 series will be equipped with high blood sugar risk assessment technology – hyperglycemia. The new feature is based on an analysis of over 100,000 hours of monitoring and over 800,000 blood sugar data. This data standard includes aspects of monitoring including heart rate, pulse wave characteristics, and more. All this helped to create an algorithm for analyzing hyperglycemia.

However, smart watches are not medicaldevice, and the measurement data and results are for reference only and not as a basis for diagnosis and treatment. Huawei has already unveiled the Huawei Watch 4 for global markets and has made no mention of the feature, which means it will be limited to models released for the Chinese market for the time being. The global version features a 1.5-inch AMOLED display and runs HarmonyOS 3.1. The device has other health-related features, including testing blood oxygen readings and analyzing an electrocardiogram (ECG). Huawei Watch 4 provides up to 3 days of battery life (14 days in Ultra Long Battery Life mode). The watch is water resistant to 5 ATM and will be released in China on May 30, according to Phonearena.
