single sample. This date will be December 28, 2024. The European Union has established the USB-C port as a single charging standard for all smartphones. The law establishing this rule has been published in the official gazette of the European Union, and thus it should enter into force twenty days after publication. The law gives individual countries the opportunity to apply the new rules in their national legislation no later than 24 months from the date of publication. The new legislation will also apply to tablets, digital cameras, headphones and handheld game consoles. Later, laptops will join the list of devices that support a single charging port format. This should happen in 2026.
