Announcement. Itel A70 is a budget smartphone running Android Go, but the debut of the chipset

Itel has announced a smartphone called Itel A70. Formally, the announcement is global. In fact, so far I’ve only seen movement in Nigeria. Even reviews have already appeared.

There are still more questions than answers. But let's see what we know.

To begin with, we were officially informed thatThe smartphone does not run on a full-fledged operating system, but only on Android 13 Go Edition. Which automatically puts him in the category of uninteresting state employees.

Chipset.Something obscure called Unisoc T603. This chip is not available on the Unisoc website. Itel is also in no hurry to talk about its characteristics. Nigerian reviewers also somehow try to avoid sharp corners. It seems to have eight Cortex-A55 cores with a maximum frequency of 1.8 GHz and a PowerVR GE8322 GPU, but the sources are not reliable. If this is really true, then we have something like the Unisoc SC9863A, only slightly overclocked. And you can hardly hope for decent performance.

Memory. 3 or 4 GB of RAM (with the possibility of pseudo-expansion up to 12 GB). By the way, there is a lot of permanent memory. 128 or even 256 GB.

Standard modern simple screen. Diagonal 6.6″ (105 cm²), resolution 720×1612 (267 ppi). Without an increased refresh rate, of course.

The battery is good, 5000 mAh. But there is no accelerated charging.

The set of cameras is simple. 8 MP in front, 13 MP plus something auxiliary in the back.

There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There is no NFC module.

There is no reliable information about Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and navigation versions.

About money. It's not very clear yet. Either ₦69,700 (₦7,740, $80.7) for the junior version, or ₦88,888 (₦9,870, $103). The data differs. (This is for Nigeria, yes).
