What is cognitive age and where to take the test?

Every person wants to have a good memory, quick thinking and high concentration. These abilities can provide an easier and happier life - just imagine what opportunities can open up if nothing is ever forgotten! Everything related to the mental abilities of a person is usually called the word "cognitive". The level of cognitive abilities of people varies depending on age and, in most cases, it can lag behind or overtake the biological age of a person. Recently, Russian scientists have developed a test that allows you to determine the cognitive age of any person. It consists of three tasks, for the solution of which 10 minutes are enough. At a calendar age of 28, my cognitive age is 35. And you?

The Internet has become one interesting test more, let's pass it

The cognitive age test was developed in 2017year, within the framework of the project "Digital personalized medicine for healthy aging" under the leadership of the Italian professor Claudio Franceschi. This project was one of the four winners in the competition for grants from the Government of Russia, which was held by the UNN. N.I. Lobachevsky.

Cognitive Age Test

For the test to work properly, you need a computer with a mouse - smart phone is not suitable. Before passing it, it is necessary tosleep and be alert. You also need to make sure that the computer monitor is lit by daylight and there is no glare from the sun on it. All this is required because the tests require the fastest possible reaction and recognition of figures on the monitor. Entering an email address, name and age is also a mandatory requirement. Here is a link to the test.

Tasks for determining cognitive age

The test consists of three tasks that are aimed at assessing attentiveness, responsiveness and visual acuity.

During the first test, the screen showsmathematical examples - you need to quickly determine whether they are correct or not. If correct, you need to press the left mouse button, and if not, do nothing. For example, if "3 + 2 = 5" appears on the screen, you need to click on the mouse. If the display shows “4>30”, nothing needs to be done.

In the second test, a person is shown the letters of the Russian alphabet. If they are written correctly, you need to click on the left mouse button, and if they are mirrored, no.

The third test is needed to determinevisual acuity. It is believed that people's vision deteriorates with age, so the faster and more accurately a person completes a task, the younger their cognitive age will be. Figures are shown on the screen, and the goal is to change the tint of the background so that they are more visible. There is a second part in which the figures need to be made invisible. Time is not limited, but the faster a person completes the task, the better.

YOU HAVE HEARD OR EVEN TAKE IQ TEST. IS IT TRUE THAT HE CAN DETERMINE THE LEVEL OF INTELLIGENCE? HERE'S THE ANSWER.

What do test results mean?

The speed and accuracy of solving problems is taken into accountartificial intelligence. It is he who determines the cognitive age of a person. It is logical to assume that the lower this indicator, the better. Let's say if a 30-year-old person passes the test and gets a result of "20 years", then he has a very flexible mind and a good memory. If a 30-year-old person gets the result "45 years old", then it's time for him to work on strengthening his memory - otherwise, old age will present a very unpleasant surprise.

You always need to strengthen your memory - in old age you will be grateful to yourself for this.

BUT DON'T TAKE THE RESULTS TOO SERIOUSLY. THEY ARE FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND CANNOT BE USED FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS.

Of course, this test is not an end in itself.the project mentioned above. According to the authors, first of all, they want to develop new medical methods to ensure healthy aging and, in general, increase life expectancy. In addition to the cognitive age test, you can find a biological age calculator and a COVID-19 severity test on the Lobachevsky University website. But it is much more difficult to pass them - you need the results of a blood test.

On the Internet, you can find many tests of differentseverity. For example, I once talked about how to pass a test for the presence of psychopathy in a domestic cat - here is the link. But there are other, more serious tests that are used by professional psychiatrists. Here is a good selection that our readers clearly liked at one time.
