The Americans launched a satellite capable of "seeing" through walls

New paid service is offered by Americanstartup Capella Space, which launched the Capella-2 satellite platform, which allows high-quality, high-resolution photographs to be taken. Using a unique algorithm and shooting mode, Americans can now shoot even through walls. The service is available for both public and private companies.

The new mode is made possible thanks to the uniquethe design of the Capella-2 satellite (weighing only 107 kg), which allows the sensor to be fixed so that it lingers on one target for a long time. The developers compared the new technology to a slow shutter speed on a digital camera, allowing more light to be captured on the sensor.

Photos can be taken anywhere on Earth.Dedicated synthetic aperture radar (SAR) can photograph at night, in fog and cloudy conditions, and through walls. The new Spotlight or Spot mode captures the image at a high resolution of 50cm x 50cm. The best resolution before Spotlight launched was 1m by 25cm with non-square pixels, which caused many problems in image analysis. The satellite hovers over the object for 60 seconds (previously only a few seconds) and sends a 9.65 GHz radio signal to the target, and then receives the reflected waves.

The ability to shoot through walls and the presencesecret zones in each state somewhat limits the scope of the company's activities for reasons of protecting personal space and state secrets. However, public spaces allow, for example, environmentalists to monitor the destruction of forests, and special services to monitor activity on the territory of airports.
