Tata Group plans to open 100 Apple mono-brand stores in India

A large Indian industrial conglomerate Tata Group, in the sphere of interests of which are production

cars and software developmentsoftware, plans to open 100 stores in India that will sell only Apple products. Tata-owned Infiniti Retail will become an Apple Authorized Retailer. Tata Group is also negotiating the acquisition of Wistron Corp, which assembles iPhone smartphones. The value of the deal could exceed $600 million. Tata Group is discussing the possibility of establishing a joint venture to assemble the iPhone in India. Such plans were announced after information about Apple's desire to diversify its iPhone business in China and move part of its production to India, it was said that up to 45% of the total iPhone production could be transferred.
