ASUS ROG Phone 7D spotted on Geekbench

ASUS is preparing to release a new series of gaming smartphones ROG Phone 7. The lineup is likely to be

include ROG Phone 7, 7D and 7 Ultimate.The new 7D has appeared in the Geekbench database, according to the Gizmochina portal. It is expected to be the successor to last year's ROG Phone 6D. In the database of the test platform, the smartphone is listed under the model number AI_2205D. The listing indicates the code name of the motherboard "kalama", which corresponds to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the authors of the portal note. The chipset consists of eight cores, three cores clocked at 2.02GHz, four cores clocked at 2.80GHz, and a main core clocked at 3.19GHz.

The smartphone will have 16 GB of RAM.ROG Phone 7D will ship with Android 13 operating system out of the box. The novelty is gaining 2012 and 5697 points according to the results of single-core and multi-core Geekbench tests. According to early rumors, the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series of smartphones will receive an AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. All models in the series are expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The base model will have up to 256GB of storage, while the most advanced one will reportedly get a maximum capacity of 512GB. The debut of the ROG Phone 7 series is scheduled for the third quarter of 2022, that is, from July to September.
