Announcement. Onyx Boox Tab X - thirteen inch reader

Onyx has unveiled its next biga reader called Onyx Boox Tab X. It can be considered an update to the Onyx Boox Max Lumi 2 reader, which was first released in October 2021. Seriously increased the capacity of the battery. Added some new “graphics processor with BOOX Super Refresh technology”, which “ensures high speed redrawing and smooth movement of objects on the screen”. Apparently, the fingerprint scanner has disappeared. And the “Back” button located under the screen, into which this scanner was integrated, is also nowhere to be seen.

The screen appears to be exactly the same.what it was. Black and white electronic ink E-Ink Mobius Carta. Huge size - 13.3″ (slightly smaller than an A4 sheet of paper). Everything you need to read pdf documents. The resolution is moderate - 1650 × 2200 (207 ppi). Signature backlight Moon Light 2 with color adjustment. The highlight is two sensory layers. Traditional capacitive (as in smartphones and tablets) and induction (Wacom) - for the stylus (the stylus comes with the reader).

Curious. As stated in the specification, the screen displays 16 shades of gray, but "up to 256 programmatically" ("up to 256 shades programmatically"). What this means, I find it difficult to say.

Iron.As usual, Onyx does not name the brand of the chipset used. Something from Qualcomm with eight cores and a frequency of 2 GHz. With a high degree of probability, this is the same as in Lumi 2, i.e. Qualcomm Snapdragon 662.

The amount of memory has not changed. 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. There is no support for memory cards.

The battery capacity has grown significantly - from 4300 mAh to 6300 mAh.

Other. USB modern, Type-C. Dual band WiFi. Bluetooth 5.0 - in case you suddenly want to listen to music from the device. There is a speaker and a microphone.

The price for Russia has not yet been announced. In Europe, Onyx Boox Tab X will cost €949.99 (₽71900, $1020). In the USA - $879.99 (₽61900). In Britain - £879.99 (₽74600, $1060).
