Announcement. Crosscall Action-X5 - French saltwater snorkeling smartphone

French, not very well known in our areaCrosscall has released its new Crosscall Action-X5 rugged smartphone for sale. Not very powerful, but very expensive - you have to pay as much as € 549.90 (₽46300, $ 619). But, as you could understand from the headline of the news, with this smartphone you can safely swim in salt (i.e. sea) water. And take pictures there. And this is with a three-year warranty. Interestingly, there is nothing written in small print in the warranty card? Hopefully nothing like that. But let's talk about everything in order.

Protection. The smartphone is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 class. The manufacturer says about 30 minutes at a depth of up to two meters in fresh, salt or even chlorinated water. (Just do not forget to rinse the device in normal fresh water at the end of water procedures). Fifteen tests claimed to MIL-STD-810H. A complete list is not provided, but a drop test from a height of two meters and an operating temperature range of -25 ° to + 60 ° C are mentioned.

Iron-smartphone filling is unpretentious. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset is only in the region of two hundred thousand points in AnTuTu, i.e. even at the average modern level of power, the smartphone does not pull. Memory is also not very much, although within reason. 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of constant. Support for memory cards is available.

Oddly enough, despite the low power,Crosscall Action-X5 is positioned as a serious smartphone camera. There are few cameras. The front one has a resolution of 13 MP, the rear is a dual module 48-13 MP - the main camera plus a wide-angle one. Not trivial, the front camera is actually wide-angle too. The same 120 ° as the rear wide-angle. They promise some kind of advanced stabilization system, sharpened for use in extreme conditions - shooting on the run, while cycling, etc. The ability to “keep the horizon” while filming and stuff like that. Let's see. I hope some reviews, in which all this can be admired, will appear soon.

We will assign the screen to the role of the weak link.Small, only 5.45 ″. Matrix - IPS, low resolution - 720 × 1440 (295 ppi). Of course, there are no increased speech refresh rates. But the screen is able to correctly respond to gloves and wet fingers.

The battery is average, 3850 mAh.

Other. There is an NFC module, a side fingerprint scanner, Type-C, dual-band Wi-Fi. Of course, there is no support for 5G networks - the chipset is not suitable.

As it usually happens in Crosscall devices, there is support for the proprietary X-Link technology - a cunning proprietary magnetic sensor for mounting, charging and / or data transmission (a round thing in the middle of the rear surface). And Crosscall also boasts excellent maintainability. They say that the device can be easily and easily disassembled to a screw, repaired and even reassembled later.
