Announcement. Honor Play 8T is a large smartphone with an excellent battery, almost a copy

Honor has announced its new smartphone Honor Play 8T (荣耀Play8T) in China.

Almost nothing new.What we have before us is an almost exact copy of the Honor Play 50 Plus, announced a week ago in China; even the dimensions match up to the second decimal place. The design is only slightly different. And the chipset.

However, the chipset differences are also rathersymbolic. Instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 (which is a modern analogue of the Dimensity 700), they installed the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 (an analogue of the Dimensity 810). Formally, Dimensity 6080 is a little better - the core frequency is slightly higher, the manufacturing process is 6 nm instead of 7 nm. In fact, this is where the differences between the chipsets end. And there is no difference - if you count in AnTuTu parrots. Both give out around 400 thousand points.

Memory. A lot of. 8 or 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage. Memory card support is not mentioned.

Large IPS screen with a diagonal of 6.8″ (111 cm²). The resolution is good, 1080x2412 (389 ppi). Slightly increased refresh rate – up to 90 Hz.

The battery is excellent, 6000 mAh. Charging is slightly accelerated - 35 W.

The set of cameras is simple. 8 MP front, 50+2 MP rear.

There is support for 5G networks, dual-band Wi-Fi, Type-C, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Apparently, there is neither a gyroscope nor an NFC module.

Honor Play 8T will cost ¥1099 (₽14,600, $150) and ¥1299 (₽17,300, $177) for the 8+256 and 12+256 GB versions, respectively, at launch.
