A group of scientists from Rockefeller University presented their latest development - the antibiotic cilagicine, which can even affect drug-resistant bacteria.
These include, for example, Clostridiumdifficile or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. At the same time, it was possible to discover a new type of antibiotic only with the help of artificial intelligence and special algorithms. It is reported that the system helped scientists select compounds that are close to antibiotics in their structure. And then chemists synthesized them in the laboratory.
Recall that earlier, in March, domestic specialists from the Stavropol State Medical University also used AI to create a new substance with antibacterial resistance.
