6 main smartphones of June

Hi all.

The main flagships of the year from Samsung and Xiaomi have already been presented. And according to tradition, it should have begun

summer lull until August-September, when Samsungwill show new folding smartphones (the Galaxy Note series was shown earlier in August), and Apple will introduce the iPhone. In the same year, due to poor sales, manufacturers are shifting the deadlines. So, Samsung will hold a presentation of clamshells in July.

Well, let's talk about June. The month turned out to be surprisingly good. Thanks to realme for launching the GT-flagship, Infinix and TECNO were pleased. Well, let's start with Meizu and Xiaomi.

ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU603) laptop review

Review of the ROG Zephyrus M16 (GU603) laptop: a powerful and stylish gaming novelty with the latest hardware and a nimble screen…

Surprisingly, Meizu continues to flutter andfrom time to time shows new and very good smartphones. However, Meizu has no international ambitions left, they work exclusively for the home Chinese market.

However, the device turned out to be quite good both outside and inside, so I decided to take it into the selection.

Like all the "Chinese" of recent years, Meizu is inspired by the aesthetics of the iPhone, making a smartphone with uncomfortable flat stainless steel edges.

Although the rear panel of the smartphone with camera eyes slightly protruding from the body is already a tribute to Samsung. And I also missed, but now it’s fashionable to take selfies while holding a smartphone like this?

It's interesting that Meizu made the real oneflagship. There is a modern chipset, and the latest generation OLED screen with a dynamic frequency of 1-120 Hz and a brightness of 1250 nits, and a UFS 4.0 drive, and optical stabilization in the cameras.

And even according to the latest fashion, Wi-Fi 7 was plugged in. For this version, the official standard has not even been approved yet.

I would like to turn the smartphone live.Meizu put the screen without glue, thanks to which they were able to almost completely get rid of the frames. Here it is more correct to say not Meizu, but BOE, from which Meizu buys screens. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out properly to translate from Chinese, but there is something about reducing energy consumption by 20% at the same brightness level.

It would also be interesting to look at the Flyme 10 shell.Interestingly, Meizu, like other Chinese companies, has launched its built-in Aicy voice assistant. And actively developing. Wonder where the money comes from

One of the curious features is a kind of smartWi-Fi mode that allows the smartphone to work simultaneously with 3 Wi-Fi networks and a mobile network. The function, according to Meizu, is needed to certainly not lose the connection during an online game. I have the same question, but where should I come, where are so many familiar Wi-Fi networks (well, or did I translate something incorrectly).

However, with its top features Meizu20 Infinity is amazing overall. Usually, if a company does not have large-scale sales, then it is difficult for it to conclude contracts in order to be among the first to gain access to advanced technologies. At the same time, the price tag for Meizu 20 Infinity is quite humane - 100 thousand rubles for the 16 GB + 1 TB version. The base 12 + 256 GB was estimated at 75 thousand rubles. It looks quite affordable even now, when the ruble went to storm the next bottom.

Perhaps, of the obvious disadvantages in the smartphone, only the lack of moisture protection and a mediocre camera. Even the test photos on the promo page look lousy.

In May, Xiaomi introduced its ultra-flagship, and in June it reached Russia.

Xiaomi 13 Ultra is one of the brightestclassic smartphones on the market, with all the features of a modern flagship. It's hard to think of what the smartphone lacks. Previously, you could kick Xiaomi by complaining that there is no protection against water. Those times are long gone.

From charging technologies to Xiaomi 13 camera sensorsUltra is a model of technology development. At the same time, Xiaomi, unlike Samsung, is pleased that the company does not save on its ultra-flagships. Samsung is known for its love of optimization, when even on top-end smartphones it tries to cut costs. Xiaomi arranges a banquet for all the money.

Collaboration with Leica is about redundantmarketing details. Our review of the smartphone was done by Roma Belykh. Roma disassembles the technique so head-on that in the whole review he never even mentioned the collaboration with Leica and did not post a single photo with “watering can” algorithms. But I carefully analyzed the quality of the base photos. In short, he spat in the soul of Xiaomi marketers.

On the one hand, right, because where is the average citizen and where are the Leica cameras?!

On the other hand, this is the salt of the smartphone. Leica, by the way, is not about the clarity and sharpness of images, but about color rendering features, strange blurs and other metaphysics.

However, it is significant that in the comments no one mentioned the “watering can”. This once again suggests that people wanted to sneeze at all these fashionable nameplates next to camera lenses.

In Russia, official sales of realme GT3 will start on June 15 at a price of 69,999 rubles.

This year, realme decided that one is enoughsmartphone version. Without any of these "pro" variations. realme GT3 is a flagship lite that has been tried to be as interesting as possible. There is a transparent block on the case through which the chipset is visible, and a microscope camera, and RGB backlight, and a pulse meter, and a built-in fingerprint scanner. Also indecently fast adapter that charges the smartphone up to 100% in 10 minutes. Raisins in a smartphone, like in a cupcake.

Interestingly, realme refused to launch the GT3 in Europe, citing that consumers would not understand the price. Before that, realme was sold in Europe at a price of up to 400 euros, and here it was immediately 800 euros.

Let me remind you that in Russia last year they tried to sell realme GT2 PRO for 90 thousand rubles. Calling the volume of sales significant will not work.

Apparently, because of this, they decided to do this yearonly one flagship and sell for 70 thousand rubles, which is already more or less reasonable. However, the public is not stupid. People quickly realized that realme GT3 is one to one realme GT Neo5. And thematic forums are full of stories about how to buy a version of a smartphone with a 150 W adapter for 38 thousand rubles (yes, it charges a little slower, but it costs almost half as much).

I do not support the realme pricing policy, but the smartphone itself is extremely good. I recommend to buy!

For my taste, almost the most curious smartphone of the month in terms of price-features-ambitions.

Last year's CAMON 19 Pro was greata smartphone that provides optical stabilization in the lower price segment. TECNO is raising the price this year. It may seem to the consumer that this is a twofold increase in cost. But note that CAMON 20 Premier 5G comes with 512 GB storage.

The main feature of the smartphone is an unusualcamera unit with 108 MP ultra wide-angle camera. If you love "ultra-wide" and have always wanted to shoot on it at night, then this is your unique chance. The main camera is also difficult. Optical stabilization is no longer in the lenses, but is achieved by calibrating the camera sensor. This is a more expensive, complex and precise technology.

Plus, they tried to give the smartphone an unbanal design with Thyssen polygons. And what does it matter what it is? Most importantly, it sounds unusual and looks nice.

I don’t predict crazy sales, but TECNO is comingthe right way, accustoming the consumer to what expensive smartphones can do. This year, the company has already shown a smartphone with a flexible screen. At the end of last year, introduced the Phantom X2 Pro with a retractable lens.

I recommend reading the review of the smartphone.

While TECNO is storming the mid-price segment,Infinix crushes the area "about 20 thousand rubles". And he does it skillfully and methodically. Last year's Note 12 Pro and Note 12 2023 were very good. And stay if you can buy.

The new 30 series builds on the success. Don't ask about the name. The Chinese have their own approach to numerology. Better watch your hands

  • While all competitors make plastic smartphones, Infinix takes frosted glass.
  • In the older model, they put not only wireless charging, but also reverse wireless charging.
  • In the older AMOLED model, the screen is 120 Hz, in Note 30 the same 120 Hz, but IPS. Everyone was pleased.
  • The adapter for the middle model is 45 watts, for the older 68 watts. These are the most powerful chargers in this price segment.
  • Now a collaboration with JBL to make the stereo speakers sound louder.
  • Improved camera algorithms.

The only moment that is incomprehensible to me remains, as it were, a fundamental rejection of frequency aggregation (the so-called LTE-A).

Conclusion

Here is such a story.Everything has passed, nothing, and for many months the main smartphones are exclusively Chinese brands. All the rest left both Russia and the global market too. Only Samsung is still struggling. But, I think, at some point he will also quit this business, referring to the fact that he earns more on the sale of components (screens, memory, chipsets).
