The device comes in a relatively largebox weighing about 10 kg. Inside, all components are stacked as tightly as possible to each other, but protected from external damage by covers and cardboard partitions.

The first thing that greets you is the instruction,warranty card, information on how to use the vacuum cleaner, and brief data on the mechanism for placing the device on the wall. Yes, there are special fasteners in the kit, on which accessories and the vacuum cleaner itself will be hung. Of course, there are also self-tapping screws with dowels.

Next comes a long gray tube with "Power by Dreame Innovation Lab" written on it.

Then the following accessories:

Soft roller brush. It has no backlight. The roll itself is removed after cleaning;

Basic multifunctional brush.It is equipped with a blue backlight for a better "seeing" of the dirt. It really helps to detect dust in dark places and clean the apartment more thoroughly. The brush is V-shaped, using thick plastic and thin small villi. At the base there is a flexible tube so that the brush can take different bending angles during cleaning;

Mini brush. It is useful for collecting dust and dirt on small surfaces: on the sofa, in the car, and so on. There is no backlight, no flexibility, but the brush is spinning;

Crevice nozzle;

Adapter. He is flexible. Installed directly next to the main unit of the vacuum cleaner. The adapter is needed so that the extension can bend a little;

Fastening to the wall with self-tapping screws and dowels;

Wide combination nozzle. When retracted, it sucks in large particles of dust. And if you push it, you can collect dust with small bristles;

Power unit. Output data: 34 V / 0.9 A, 30.6 W.

The main device is a vacuum cleaner.

Design and elements

The design of the device is classic for similarvacuum cleaners. There is a handle, a large battery is placed under it (in this case it is removable), a little higher is a small screen with two buttons, in front is a motor and a garbage container.

The gadget is painted in silver, more precisely, in metallic silver. The back part for some reason has a darker color.

The part where the motor is located is translucent with a golden edging on the top and bottom.

In general, it is felt that over the design andthey worked with materials, and did not “sculpt” anything. I have a similar vacuum cleaner from Anker, but it is much simpler compared to the Dreame. But here the savings are almost 10,000 rubles. Dreame is just another level. Like the Apple iPhone 14 and 14 Pro Max.

The weight of the device together with the battery is about 1800 grams. Separate battery - 530 grams.

Immediately I will say about the constructive minus: the battery is charged only in the vacuum cleaner. That is, the battery does not have a power connector for the adapter. Even though the official website says:

"Replaceable battery can be charged separately."

There is no special cradle, so you have to lug around with a vacuum cleaner every time. For example, in my Anker HomeVac S11, the battery detaches and is powered independently of the vacuum cleaner.

It's good that in Dreame R20 the container comes unfastened from the main unit of the vacuum cleaner.

On the back of the gadget there is a smalldisplay. In the pictures it seemed to me that it was an IPS or AMOLED panel, in fact it turned out to be an ordinary LCD screen with numbers and a finished picture, which is illuminated from the back by green, red, orange or white LEDs. Depends on which feature is enabled. Looks pretty.

Above the screen there is a button with a lock. It is responsible for blocking and unblocking continuous cleaning. Convenient feature. No need to keep your finger on the power button.

The second button is at the bottom, this is the switch between automatic and maximum cleaning.

The handle of the vacuum cleaner is at a slight natural angle. I have a medium-sized palm and the grip is comfortable. It seems to me that the handle is suitable even for a wide palm.

Of course, keeping the Dreame R20 for a long time is not veryconvenient, but the gadget itself is designed for quick cleaning. That is, within 10-15 minutes - no problem. But a little longer - the hands are already tired. Still, 1.7 kg, not counting the weight of the nozzles.

The battery capacity is 2900 mAh. The manufacturer claims that the battery is assembled from 8 cells.

The maximum operating time is reached inautomatic mode at low power. It's about 90 minutes. On average, the “auto” gadget works 50 minutes. If you turn on the maximum suction mode, the battery will run out in 12 minutes.

There is nothing extraordinary here: other similar vacuum cleaners show the same operating time. The same Anker HomeVac S11 at the maximum "takes out" only 7 minutes!

On the other hand, even 10 minutes is sometimes enough for a thorough cleaning of the premises.

I don't recommend draining the battery. In the future, you will have to wait a very long time for the battery to come out of the "stupor". As soon as the discharge indicator began to flash on the screen, turn it off and put it on charge.

Charging time is about 3.5 hours.

Cleaning

The first thing to note is the levelpower. It adjusts automatically according to how dirty the floor is. The system of the device somehow itself understands that the place being cleaned is clean or dirty. In the first case, the motor runs at low speeds, in the second - at high speeds.

In addition, there is a manual switch to maximum power. Suction is noticeably improved and becomes approximately at the level of simple corded vacuum cleaners.

According to the passport, the maximum power is about 570 watts. This is an impressive figure for a cordless handheld vacuum cleaner.

The volume level of the cordless vacuum cleanerDreame R20 is three to four times less than the noise from the usual one. This is also a plus: for example, according to the law, from 13:00 to 15:00 it is impossible to make noise in a residential area. And with the R20, you can vacuum even at full power even after 12 midnight, what can we say about daily cleaning.

I found the R20 to be slightly quieter than the S11 Reach on automatic harvesting. At the very least, the nature of the noise is more pleasant: it rustles to the ear closer to “pink noise”.

The second thing to note when cleaning is -swivel brush. It can be rotated as much as 180 degrees to the right or left. To do this, you just need to slightly rotate the main unit counterclockwise or clockwise.

Moreover, this mechanism is present on the main androller brushes. There is also a flexible adapter. It is needed in cases where it is difficult for you to bend over and squeeze the tube with a brush under the bed, under the bedside table or under the table.

The third point is the laser illumination.The main brush has two "lanterns" that shine forward with a 140-degree field of view. Color is ultra blue. For example, the Anker HomeVac S11 also has a backlight. But it is white - ordinary LEDs. Contrasting sharp blue color allows you to "see" more dust particles.

It seems to me that cleaning an apartment in the dark is even better, since lasers illuminate dust more accurately. In bright light, the "backlight" works a little worse.

The quality of work Dreame R20 me completelysatisfied. It copes with dust and dirt a little better than the same Anker (there is nothing more to compare with). Approximately 30 m2, as a rule, completely fills a 0.6 liter dust container. But here a lot depends on the amount of dirt in the room.

The main positive point in the Dreame R20 is a tricky brush that does not wrap hair around. They constantly “stick” to the Anker brush: once a week you definitely have to cut this ball.

After cleaning is complete, remove the container and throw away the trash. Everything is as simple as possible: the lid opens - and the dust spills out under its own weight.

If desired, the container can be gently washed, including the filter between the container and the engine.

It gets dirty pretty quickly: every couple of weeks I wash it thoroughly with soap and water.

Impression

I can't say that Dreame R20 is perfectcordless vacuum cleaner, but it will save money on purchasing some Dyson. At the same time, the R20 is built better, looks better, and is technically better than the Anker HomeVac S11 counterparts.

In addition, the Dreame kit includes many accessories that allow you to clean more thoroughly and comfortably, and this is the most important thing in this business.

Of the minuses:

The battery is not charged separately from the main unit;
Not the most convenient fastening of the container to the main unit.

From the pros:

A large number of different nozzles;
Long working time;
High-quality case;
Flexible hoses for cleaning in confined spaces;
Illumination built into the brush to detect dust and dirt;
Good suction power.

The cost starts from about 25,000 rubles.Not budget at all. This device will be purchased by those who know why they need this one. For example, I don't like classic vacuum cleaners, robots are useless for me. But such devices as the R20 are just that.
