An insider revealed AMD's strategic plans and the release of "art" processors by Warhol, Van Gogh and Cezanne

One of the world's leading manufacturersprocessors and graphics cards, AMD will bring even more innovative products to market in the coming years and strengthen its position in the competitive wars with Intel. AMD's plans for the near future were announced by an insider MebiuW, who had already provided the community in May of this year, with a piece of information borrowed from the company's documents, which told about the future 7nm processors codenamed Warhol. In the new information MebiuW expanded the information and talked about the next "artistic" processors from AMD, which are coded under the names Van Gogh and Cezanne.

According to MebiuW information, which is not trueFinally, the Warhol series of processors are slated for release in mid-2021, six months after the launch of the Vermeer (Ryzen 4000) series, which will hit the market before the end of 2020. The Warhol line will be an intermediate solution and will be replaced by the Raphael generation with a new AM5 socket, Zen 4 architecture and support for DDR5 and USB 4.

It is noteworthy that in the upcoming Raphael series, information available on the MebiuW slides, there will be a mention of Navi, which may indicate the introduction of a line of processors with integrated graphics in desktop processors.

In early 2021 will also be launched on the marketCezanne (Ryzen 5000) hybrid processors designed to replace Renoir chips (Ryzen 4000). This series of processors will be built on x86 Zen 3 cores and integrated Radeon Vega graphics. The Ryzen 5000G desktop version (expected in summer 2021) and U and H series mobile processors will enter the market.

In parallel with the release of Cezanne, AMDplans to bring to market energy efficient APUs Van Gogh (TDP from 7.5 to 18 watts) for ultrabooks. For this platform, it is planned to install Zen 2 x86 cores that are already running on the company's existing processors and Navi 2 video processors on the RDNA 2 architecture. The integrated LPDDR5 controller will allow working with 6400 MHz memory.

AMD Power Efficient Hybrid VanGogh will compete directly with Intel's 9W Tiger Lake-Y and 15W Tiger Lake-U, which are slated to ship on September 2. AMD's 2022 plans include replacing Cezanne with the next "art" Rembrandt chip with Navi graphics based on RDNA architecture. Van Gogh processors will receive receivers codenamed Dragon Crest.
