Announcement. Moto razr 40 and razr 40 Ultra are clamshell phones with flexible screens

Do you know what happens if you try to type “razr” and forget to switch the language on the keyboard? Get "kfyak". Moto kfyak. It's wonderful! Meet a couple of fresh kfiaks!

Lenovo has introduced folding smartphones with flexible screens in China.
Moto razr 40 and
Moto razr 40 Ultra. As expected, the devices turned out to be serious and expensive.

Let's start with the screens.

Basic (flexible) screens have similar characteristics. Diagonal 6.9 ″ (108 cm²), resolution 1080 × 2640 (413 ppi). High refresh rate - up to 165 Hz for the Ultra and up to 144 Hz for the razr 40. LTPO screens.

But the second (external screens) differ very much.

In Ultra, this is a square, and quiterather big size – 3.6″ (42 cm²). And the resolution here is tall - 417 ppi, and the refresh rate - right up to 144 Hz. Those. this is a full screen on which you can do almost everything. Reply to messages, watch videos or maps, etc.

And the razr 40 has a small second screen, only 1.47″ (6 cm²). And rectangular. And the resolution is smaller, only 283 ppi. Notification screen, nothing more.

Iron. Last year's flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 was installed in the Ultra. And the razr 40 uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mid-level chipset (500-600 thousand AnTuTu points).

Batteries are small. 3800 mAh for Ultra and 4200 mAh for razr 40. Wired charging is slightly accelerated - 30 watts. There is also wireless charging, but quite unhurried.

With cameras, everything is somehow strange. The sets are the same.Front cameras with a resolution of 32 MP, dual main cameras. At the Ultra, the cameras are “delicately” built into the external screen. It looks strange, but that's not the point. The second cameras are wide, combined with macro cameras, they, like the front cameras, are also identical - 13 MP. But the main cameras are different. 12 MP for the Ultra and 64 MP for the razr 40. It is clear that the Ultra has larger pixels. But anyway, no matter how hard you try, the size of the matrix will be smaller ... Well, let's see. Hopefully someone will do a photo duel. But the title of the photo-flagman is clearly not good for either smartphone. But we do not expect frank horror. Moreover, both devices have optical stabilization.

Other. There are NFC modules, there are fingerprint scanners (side). There is even support for all the LTE bands we need. What is missing are standard audio outputs and support for memory cards.

And about money.

¥3999 (₽45500, $561), ¥4299 (₽48900, $603) and ¥4699 (₽53400, $660) for the 8+128, 8+256 and 12+256 GB versions respectively.
