UAE space station sent high-resolution color photograph of Mars (2 photos)

The spacecraft of China, the USA and the UAE are practicallysimultaneously flew to Mars and begin broadcasting the first scientific data, allowing to begin a detailed study of the planet, the colonization of which may begin in the coming decades. The first Arab satellite, named Al-Amal (Hope), sent a high-quality color image of the surface of Mars with detailed views of the largest objects on the red planet.

Just a few days ago, a photo was postedmade by the Chinese station "Tianwen 1" en route to Mars. It was a black and white image taken from a distance of 2.2 million kilometers to the surface. Now a photograph has arrived on Earth, taken by "Nadezhda" from a distance of only 24,700 kilometers.

High-definition photography allowssee the details of the relief of Mars. In particular, in the center of the photo you can see the largest extinct volcano in the solar system, Olympus (height 21 km), located in the equatorial region. A little to the east, three more extinct volcanoes are visible in a row, and the North Pole is located in the upper left part of the image.

The Al-Amal spacecraft was designed inThe UAE and its launch was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the unification of the 7 emirates. In the development team of the Arab satellite, 80% of the engineers were women. The satellite will study the weather and atmosphere of Mars to create a dynamic picture of climate change on the planet, both on a historical scale and throughout the Martian day. The term of the expedition in orbit will be up to 2 years. All scientific data transmitted to Earth will be published in the public domain.
