Galaxy S23 Ultra turned out to be stronger than iPhone 15 Pro Max (video)

The authors of the YouTube channel PhoneBuff compareddurability of iPhone 15 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in concrete drop tests. In total, the smartphones fell three times from a height of 130 cm and once from 140 cm. The titanium frame actually turned out to be stronger than aluminum.

The first test was a controlled releasesmartphones on the back panel. The covers of both models were covered with cracks, but the Galaxy's "cobweb" turned out to be much smaller. As a result, the authors considered that the S23 Ultra won in this test.

In the second test, both smartphones fell at an angleframework. The iPhone's titanium turned out to be stronger than the Galaxy's aluminum - it did not lose its shape, while the frame of the S23 Ultra was deformed at the point of impact. However, shards of the 15 Pro Max's rear glass have begun to peel off, and the Galaxy's cover has only developed small cracks.

In the third test, smartphones were thrown face down. The displays could not stand it and became covered with cracks. At the same time, Samsung and iPhone continued to work properly. At the end of the video, the authors repeated the test, but dropped the devices from a height of 140 cm. After this, the S23 Ultra remained almost unchanged, and several more fragments of glass broke off from the iPhone cover.

As a result, the authors gave points to each smartphonefor the result they showed: iPhone 15 Pro scored 37 points, Galaxy S23 Ultra - 39. The main reason for Apple’s loss is the back panel, from which glass shards begin to fall off after the second and subsequent drops.
