Announcement. Realme 12 5G smartphone – cute, but almost identical

The Realme 12 5G smartphone has been announced in India.

It doesn’t take much intelligence to notice that the newcomer repeats in almost every way last year’s handsome Realme 11 5G Global (not to be confused with the Realme 11 5G China).

• They “halved” the selfie camera – it became eight megapixels instead of sixteen.
• Charging has been slowed down - 45 W versus 67 W.
• The appearance has changed.
• Android has been updated.

Actually, that's all. I don't see any other differences.

Realme 11 5G Global

The chipset is the same MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ (slightly over 400K in AnTuTu). Not very greasy, but it will do.

Memory. We could have used more options, of course. 6 or 8 GB of RAM, strictly 128 GB of permanent memory. Memory cards are supported.

IPS screen, but with a high refresh rate – up to 120 Hz. Large, 6.72″ (109 cm²). Standard resolution – 1080×2400 (392 ppi).

The battery is classic, 5000 mAh. Charging is moderately fast – 45 W.

Cameras. 8 MP front, 108+2 MP rear. The brand of the main sensor has not been officially named, but, by all indications, it is Samsung ISOCELL HM6 (1/1.67″).

The NFC module is not visible. There is a fingerprint scanner on the side.

Realme 12 5G at the start of sales will cost ₹14,999 (₹16,500, $181) and ₹17,999 (₽19,800, $217) for versions 6+128 and 8+128 GB, respectively.
