Announcement. Huawei Pura 70 and company. Expensive and rich

Huawei introduced in its native China (and immediately began selling them there) Pura 70 series smartphones (four pieces).

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra

Flagship series, not cheap devices. Suffice it to say that the junior version of the youngest device at the start of sales will cost ¥5499 (₽71,500, $758).

Iron. The brands of chipsets have not been officially announced.But because Smartphones immediately arrived in stores, and everyone immediately found out everything without leaving the checkout. Well, that's it. We found out the brands of chipsets. They are homemade, Chinese, Huawei, brand new. They are called Kirin 9000S1 and Kirin 9010. In the modern sense, they cannot be called full-fledged flagships. In AnTuTu, judging by the first measurements, smartphones do not crawl to a million parrots. But it’s your own, dear, not subject to sanctions.

Huawei Pura 70 Pro

The screens of all four smartphones are LTPO OLED withrefresh rate up to 120 Hz. The younger device, the Pura 70, has a slightly smaller screen, 6.6″ (106 cm²). The rest of the trio have 6.8″ (110 cm²). The resolution is high, approximately the same. 1256x2760 (459 ppi) and 1260x2844 (457 ppi), respectively. As you can easily imagine, the youngest is somewhat less elongated than his older brothers. And, by the way, its screen, unlike its relatives, is completely, completely flat, without curves.

And they added one more difference in the screens.The two younger devices have screens protected by Kunlun Glass 2. The older pair has more sophisticated glass. It’s difficult to say what exactly to call it. Of the options I came across, my favorite is Kunlun Basalt Glass. Let it be called that for now.

Battery capacity – from 4900 mAh to 5200 mAh.Chargers are fast, both wired and wireless (see plate). By the way, they didn’t skimp on the speed of reverse wireless charging – as much as 20 W for the older trio (and 7.5 W for the youngest).

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra

The front cameras of all three devices have an identical resolution of 13 MP. The older trio have autofocus. Otherwise, nothing interesting, apparently.

There are three rear cameras. Main, telephoto periscope (both with optical stabilization), wide-angle.

Nothing interesting about telephotos and wide-anglesI can’t say, but the Ultra’s main camera deserves close attention. Firstly, there is an inch sensor. Secondly, this camera was made retractable (!). Maybe you remember. Previously, it was common to take photographs not with smartphones, but with separate such devices, they were called cameras. And they often had retractable lenses. And here we have just such a case.

About communication via satellites.The two older models allow you to exchange messages via Beidou satellites and calls via Tiantong. For Pura 70 Pro owners, only messages via Beidou are available. A younger smartphone cannot experience the joy of satellite communications.

What else is interesting.All four smartphones have full IP68 protection against water and dust. Of course, they all have NFC modules and under-screen fingerprint scanners. Of course, no one has standard audio outputs or memory card support.

There is no information about which LTE and 5G bands are supported.

And about sad things, about money.

Pura 70 at the start of sales will cost ¥5499 (₽71,500, $758), ¥5999 (₽78,000, $827) and ¥6999 (₽91,000, $965) for versions 12+256, 12+512 and 12+1024 GB, respectively.

Pura 70 Pro is exactly one thousand yuan more expensive – ¥6499 (₽84,500, $896), ¥6999 (₽91,000, $965) and ¥7999 (₽104,000, $1,100) for the same versions.

For additional RAM and satellite communication support that comes with the Pura 70 Pro+, you will have to pay another thousand – ¥7999 (₽104,000, $1,100) and ¥8,999 (₽117,000, $1,240) for versions 16+512 and 16+1024 GB.

And finally, Pura 70 Ultra. Top cameras are expensive these days. ¥9999 (₽130,000, $1,380) and ¥10,999 (₽143,000, $1,520) for 16+512 and 16+1024 GB
