Announcement. Onyx Boox Page is a seven-inch reader with an eight-core chipset

Behind the hill, the classic black and white seven-inch ink reader Onyx Boox Page (“Page – Page (eng)”) has been announced.

The new Page is very similar to the two readers sold in Russia. On Onyx Boox Leaf 2 and Onyx Boox Galileo.
(Galileo is a Leaf 2 with a case,
Leaf 2 is a Galileo without a case; Leaf 2 also has a bit less battery).

There are few differences from relatives. Onyx Boox Page has more RAM - 3 GB versus 2 GB of the rest. And the chipset is different.

Onyx chipset brands are not traditionally called. Officially, we only know that the Page uses something eight-core from Qualcomm, and its relatives also have a Qualcomm chip, but there are only four cores.

Presumably Onyx Boox Page usesQualcomm Snapdragon 662 (~200K in AnTuTu), which is well known to us from smartphones, and in the other readers mentioned there is a significantly weaker specialized Qualcomm QCS2290 chip.

Other characteristics.

Case with asymmetrical frames. Buttons for paging are visible on the wider side.

Screen E-Ink Carta 1200. Touch, with backlight. Electronic ink is regular, not color.

Size. Seven inches exactly (152 cm²). Resolution - standard modern 300 ppi (1264 × 1680).

All is well with memory. By reader standards, of course. 3 GB operational, 32 GB permanent. Plus, there is even support for memory cards.

The battery is not bad (again - for readers) capacity - 2300 mAh (against 2000 mAh for Leaf 2).

There is a speaker, microphone, Type-C, Bluetooth and dual-band Wi-Fi.

Android is not the first freshness, the eleventh version. Plus its own shell on top of it, of course.

Onyx Boox Page will cost $249.99 (₽21,000) in the US and €279.99 (₽25,600, $305) in Europe.
