Announcement. Lava Agni 2 5G is a solid smartphone for India

Lava has announced a solid mid-range smartphone in India and called it the Lava Agni 2.

The chipset is called MediaTek Dimensity 7050.The same chipset that is used in a fresh pair of 11 Pro and 11 Pro + from Realme. And the one that is a rebranded last year's Dimensity 1080 chipset. So in AnTuTu we are waiting for around half a million points. Solid, but to a full-fledged flagship smartphone, of course, oh how far.

But with memory, everything is very good. 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage. But there is nowhere to put a memory card.

The screen is very rounded, but otherwise everything is nice. AMOLED-matrix with a diagonal of 6.78 ″ (111 cm²) and a resolution of 1080 × 2400 (388 ppi). The refresh rate is up to 120 Hz.

The battery is average by modern standards, 4700 mAh. But charging is fast - 66 watts.

There are many cameras. 16 MP front, 50+8+2+2 MP rear.Standard set, of course. Main camera, wide-angle, macro, depth sensor. The main camera sensor is not named. But this is definitely not the famous Samsung ISOCELL JN1. In addition, the pixels are small - 0.64µm. Something more solid is used here, with 1.00µm pixels. Perhaps some kind of OmniVision. OmniVision OV50A for example.

Is there an NFC module - they don’t say. So it's most likely not there. The fingerprint scanner is hidden in the screen. There is a sixth Wi-Fi and Type-C. There is no standard audio output.

The cost of Lava Agni 2 at the start of sales will not be so expensive - ₹19990 (₽19700, $244).
