During the study over 8 years, a total of 4365 suffered a heart attack or stroke, and 4,381 people died. According to Wang’s work, those who regularly slept for more than 8 hours were more likely to develop cardiovascular disease or die prematurely. In other words, the risk of premature death or the occurrence of cardiovascular disease for them was on average 5% higher than for those who slept the recommended 8 hours. The chances of premature death and the acquisition of cardiovascular disease among those who slept from 9 to 10 hours were 17% higher, and people whose sleep on a regular basis was more than 10 hours risked 41% more than others.
How much sleep do you need?
