Xiaomi announced a Redmi smartphone with a 64 megapixel camera

Smartphone developers and manufacturerslaunched a real race for the number of pixels in the cameras of mobile gadgets. The Chinese company Xiaomi during the Future Image Technology Communication Meeting demonstrated a 64MP camera, which is supposed to be installed on the Redmi Note 8 device for the Indian market and will be released in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The camera uses a Samsung ISOCELL sensorBright GW1, which was announced in May of this year. The sensor from the South Korean giant allows you to take high-quality images in almost any illumination of an object using Tetracell and 3D HDR technologies. The sensor uses the technology of combining 4 pixels into 1, to obtain high-quality 16 megapixel photos in poor lighting conditions, the photosensitivity of the sensor is 15% higher than that of its predecessor with 48 megapixels. It uses automatic ISO adjustment depending on the degree of illumination of the subject.

The Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor has1 / 1.7-inch sensor, a pixel value of 0.8 microns or 1.6 microns when processing 4 pixels in 1. The camera will support Hybrid 3D HDR technology, which allows to obtain a dynamic range of 100 dB.

When using the camera full resolutionyou can take a picture with a resolution of 9248 × 6936 (19 Mb). This resolution allows you to print high-quality posters 2.44 x 3.26 m in size with a resolution of 72 dpi.

In addition, the Chinese company announcedthe intention is to use a 108 megapixel camera supplied by Samsung with a resolution of 9248 × 6936 in the near future. Presumably, such cameras can get the model Xiaomi Mi Mix 4.
