Today, scientists from all over the worldtrying to find out the causes of certain dangerous diseases. For example, German scientists recently found that preservatives in cosmetics can cause obesity in children of women who use them actively. There are a lot of similar studies, and one of the most interesting is the scientific work on the relationship between the number of sexual partners and susceptibility to cancer and other deadly diseases. In addition to clarifying this pattern, scientists also managed to find out which people have the most sexual partners.
According to the scientific journal BMJ Sexual &Reproductive Health, as part of the study, scientists studied data on 2537 men and 3185 women living in the UK. The information was collected using the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing research project, and the authors of the scientific work were interested in data on people with an average age of 64 years.
The danger of promiscuous sex
During the survey, 28% of men admitted that for theirlife had from zero to one partner. About 29% of men announced 3-4 partners, 20% of 5-9 partners, and 22% of ten or more girls with whom they were in a relationship. Researchers found that a large numberpeople who are not in a family relationship have sexual partners. It was also influenced by a high or low level of income, and people with average earnings, apparently, had a minimum number of partners. Scientists also noted that many proponents of promiscuous sexual intercourse are addicted to cigarettes and alcohol. The most interesting discovery was that people with a large number of sexual partners were not only susceptible to infection with sexually transmitted diseases, but also had a greater risk of developing cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
In particular, we are talking about the fact that women witha large number of sexual partners had a 91% greater predisposition to cancer than all others. Practically the same thing can be said about men - those who had an erratic sex life suffered 69% more from fatal diseases than people with regular sexual partners.
Researchers believe that increasedpredisposition to dangerous diseases is caused by complications caused by sexually transmitted infections. However, it should also be borne in mind that people with promiscuous sex are addicted to cigarettes and alcohol. And these common dependencies, by the way, also greatly increase the likelihood of dangerous diseases.
