Probably, the companies founded by the entrepreneur will surprise us with their achievements more than once. At the moment, SpaceX is developing a huge Starship spaceship for flights to the Moon, Mars and other planets. Engineers have already collected two test samples of the aircraft, one of which recently exploded during the test. But Elon Musk remains calm and the question arises - why?
According to the publication space.com, November 20, the company decided to test the tightness of the spacecraft on the example of a test sample called Starship Mk1. The test did not go as smoothly as we would like - after it started, an explosion occurred in the SpaceX private spaceport in Texas and its upper part was torn off the ship. In the video below, you can see that the top of the rocket comes off the bottom and falls 10 seconds near the test rig.

You might think that SpaceX is againfailed, but why is Elon Musk so calm? On his twitter, the entrepreneur explained that during the test, they initially wanted to maximize the pressure in the ship's systems. According to him, it turns out that from the very beginning they were ready for a possible explosion, so it was not a surprise to them. In addition, during the explosion, no one was injured and he did not cause severe damage to neighboring objects.

Also, Elon Musk shared that explodedthey are not going to repair the Starship Mk1 rocket. The fact is that it was intended only to test some systems of the aircraft and at the moment it has completed everything that was required of it. Instead of repairing it, the company will concentrate on assembling a new Starship Mk3 test sample, which will be better than the previous two options.

Notably, the Starship test sampleMk1 was introduced recently, at the end of September 2019. Then the company representatives assured that at the end of the year it will be used for test flights at an altitude of about 20 kilometers. In principle, the failure of this intention due to the explosion may be the only cause for concern for Elon Mask. In all other respects, things are going well with the company - in flight tests it is quite possible to use the following prototype called Starship Mk2.
