In Russia, the Fisher supercomputer, created by the specialists of the Roselectronika enterprise for the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences, has been launched.
As one of the leaders of the state corporation notedRostec Oleg Yevtushenko, over the past few years at the JIHT RAS have already used the DESMOS supercomputer with a capacity of 52.24 teraflops. The computing power of the device was incredibly sought after by scientists. So we decided to make him a “little brother” based on the next generation of the switching network.
The novelty includes 24 nodes on 16-core processors. Its peak performance reaches 13.5 teraflops. The computing cluster provides an immersion cooling system. It provides energy efficiency and uniformity of thermoregulation even at significant loads.
It’s not possible to prepare special rooms for a supercomputerhave to. The range of its operating temperatures is from minus 50 to plus 50 degrees Celsius. The device is primarily designed to solve the problems of molecular dynamics. Digital models of substances will be created, and the behavior of materials placed in extreme conditions will be predicted.
Recall that Fisher was the firsta supercomputer based on the Angara domestic communications network. It was specially created for supercomputers at one time. Thanks to the technology, it became possible to concentrate from thousands of computers in a common network of capacities. They can be produced by different companies and have a different architecture of the central processors.
