U.S. EV sales up in Q3, market research firm Counterpoint estimates
last year by 52%.The top ten models accounted for more than 70% of total sales. U.S. electric vehicle sales are projected to exceed 10 million units per year by 2030. It is noted that Tesla accounts for more sales than 15 other brands of electric vehicles combined. The top EV model in the US is the Tesla Model Y with a 22.5% share, followed by the Tesla Model 3 with a 20.4% share. Tesla's closest competitor is the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, which accounted for 4.8% of sales. Among the ten best-selling electric cars is also the Tesla Model S with a 3.2% sales share in the third quarter of last year.
