TSMC accounts for 70% of global smartphone chipset production

TSMC holds a 69.9% share of the global smartphone chipset business, both processors on a chip and

discrete processors.The second player in the world market in terms of production of these chips is Samsung. Thus, these two players account for almost 100% of the entire production of chips for smartphones. TSMC has the highest capital expenditure in the industry of any smartphone chip player. So, in the period from 2021 to 2023, TSMC intends to invest up to $ 100 billion in the production of chips using 3-5 nanometer technologies, which will allow the company to secure absolute leadership in the production of advanced technological processes.
