According to the forecast of the Association of e-commerce companies (AKIT), the volume of e-commerce this year in Russia
amount to 5 trillion rubles, which is 40% more thanlast year's figures. According to the data for the first seven months of this year, the e-commerce market amounted to 2.7 trillion rubles, which is 42% higher than in the same period a year earlier. 95.8% of this turnover accounted for domestic trade, thus, the Russians purchased goods on the local market for 2.6 trillion rubles, the rest of the turnover was provided by cross-border trade. At the same time, at the beginning of the year, the share of cross-border trade was 13%. At the moment, the share of Internet commerce in the total trade turnover of the country is 11.2%, and a year ago it did not even reach 10%, amounting to 8.4%. As of July, the Russian e-commerce market grew by 41%, reaching 384 billion rubles, the largest share of it is occupied by digital technology and electronics, they account for 22.1% of the market.
