The technical characteristics of the AMD Ryzen mobile processor were announced (2 photos)

In the market of processors supplied for mobileplatforms, including for smartphones, a new player will appear that can significantly affect the distribution of forces in the industry. Samsung and AMD last year, as part of an affiliate program, began work on creating processors with integrated graphics based on the RDNA 2 architecture. Insiders have now provided information on the development of the AMD Ryzen C7 mobile processor, which can compete with similar chips from Qualcomm and MediaTek.

Insiders report that the future 8 nuclearRyzen C7 processor will be manufactured using 5nm technology. The chip will include: two Gaugin Pro cores based on the recently introduced ARM Cortex-X1 (3 GHz) architecture, two Gaugin cores (Cortex-A78, 2.6 GHz) and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 (2.0 GHz). The integrated graphics at a frequency of 700 MHz will receive four cores of RDNA 2. Insiders say that the GPU will be 45% more productive than Adreno 650. The processor supports ray tracing and Variable Rate Shading (VRS) texture compression technology.

AMD's new mobile platform will besupport LPDDR5X RAM standard, UFS 3.1 drives, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 modules and modems for working in 5G networks. Insiders also suggested that the Ryzen C7 could become the basis for creating compact mobile game consoles. The time of the official announcement of future AMD mobile processors is still unknown.
