Volkswagen AG Czech divisionSkoda automaker plans to enter the market for large passenger electric cars. The first electric crossover from Skoda will be called ENYAQ. This name is associated with the Irish name Enya, which means “source of life” and comes from eithne, which means “spirit”.


In marking a new car is usedSkoda traditional ending in the letter Q, as in other crossovers KODIAQ, KAROQ and KAMIQ. At the same time, the first letter of the name ENYAQ is expected to indicate that the car belongs to a series of electric vehicles. At the same time, the first production Skoda electric car was the Skoda Citigo-e iV.

The base for the Skoda ENYAQ electric crossover will be the Volkswagen MEB universal platform designed for many models.
ENYAQ is supposed to be a production versionSkoda Vision iV concept, which was demonstrated at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019. In this case, the car will have two electric motors with a capacity of 225 kW, a battery with a capacity of 83 kWh and a range of autonomous travel of 500 km during the WLTP cycle.


According to the promises of the developers of the crossover SkodaENYAQ will enter the market in 2021, and by 2025 electric cars will occupy 25% of the total number of cars manufactured by the company. About 10 models of Skoda electric cars will be produced, for which, from 2021, 2 billion euros will be invested in their production.
