Russian scientists revealed the date of the first in historyRussia's launch of the interplanetary lunar station, which is scheduled for October 1, 2021. The last launch of the Soviet lunar automatic station "Luna-24" took place in August 1976, and the assignee of the USSR, the Russian state has not yet flown to the moon.
The news was announced at a meeting of the RussianAcademy of Space Sciences, head of the Department of Nuclear Planetology of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Igor Mitrofanov, who announced plans for the first sending to the moon of the Russian interplanetary device on October 1, 2021.
Currently, experts have decided on placesthe landing of the Russian lunar apparatus. The main seat is located in the area north of Boguslavsky Crater, and the backup is located southwest of the Manzini Crater. The device, called “Luna-25”, will perform work on the analysis of soil composition and properties in the polar region of the Moon, determine the mechanical characteristics of the soil and analyze the exosphere in the polar region of the Earth’s natural satellite.
