Tesla sells about 50% of its total car sales through an online channel

During the China Automotive Dealership Industry Annual Conference, it was stated that

Tesla's sales business model allows it torealize its unique advantages and generate about 50% of the total car sales through the online channel on the Tesla website. Tesla manages to achieve such results due to the strength of the brand and a new approach to sales. It is believed that the future of car sales will lead to the abandonment of the traditional dealer network and the increase in car sales using online tools. The development of electric vehicles is helping to reduce the need for dealerships, as electric cars have a much simpler design compared to ICE cars and, accordingly, require less maintenance. It is noted that at the moment none of the traditional car manufacturers can achieve such online sales parameters as Tesla provides, although they recognize the advantages of such an approach to sales.
