Tesla leads automaker in autopilot accidents

Tesla leads the automaker in the use of driver assistance systems in the number of accidents with

participation of their vehicles.So, since July 2021, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reported 273 accidents involving Tesla. Automakers are actively working to improve autopilot systems and increase the amount of testing of such systems. In total, more than 500 accidents involving vehicles equipped with autonomous driving systems have been recorded since June 2021, including six deaths and five serious injuries. In addition to Tesla, the NHTSA report cites 90 cases of Honda cars, 62 cases of Alphabet's Waymo cars, and 23 cases of General Motors Cruise cars. Currently, more than twelve automakers are testing vehicles with self-driving systems on US roads.
