In March of this year, the owners of consolesPlayStation 3, PSP and PS Vita received an unexpected and unpleasant "gift" from Sony in the form of a warning about plans to disconnect these consoles from the PS Store. Since then, a lot of criticism has been expressed in the gaming community against the company, which actually refuses to work with its customers.
As a result, Sony management changed itsthe initial decision and announces the extension of work on PS3 and PS Vita with the PS Store in the "foreseeable future". However, for PSP owners, the situation has not changed and they will be disconnected from the digital store on July 2 of this year.
First warning for owners of deprecatedconsoles about a possible disconnection from the PS Store appeared during the presentation of the PlayStation 5, when the sections offering games for the PlayStation 3, PSP and PS Vita disappeared from the store. Later, such users were given access to the old version of the store. The official announcement of plans to close access to the PS Store for the PlayStation 3, PSP and PS Vita was announced at the end of March 2021: for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3, the "milestone" of the shutdown was set for July 2, and for the PlayStation Vita - August 27.
However, now Sony has not only extended theindefinitely the operation of the digital store for PS3 and PS Vita, but through the mouth of the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Jimi Ryan admitted the erroneousness of the original decision, calling it "wrong."
