Smartwatch shipments in China fell by 9% last year
According to research firm Counterpoint, shipments of smartwatches in China have declined following the results of the past
year for 9.3%, while global shipments of smartwatches over the same period showed a reverse trend and grew by 12%. The leaders of the Chinese smartwatch market are Huawei and Apple, their combined share reaches 50%. Experts note an increase in sales in the segment of premium models worth over $200. This trend is explained by an increase in interest in the advanced functionality of such models, for example, health monitoring and various professional sports recommendations. Huawei and Apple managed to increase their market shares compared to the previous year to 27% and 30%, respectively, while other players, on the contrary, reduced their shares.
