Qualcomm presented a series of chipsThe QCS400 lineup is designed to work in smart audio devices, such as smart speakers and sound bars. New processors provide better sound, reduce energy consumption and create conditions for the transition to the next generation of device control using voice commands.
The QCS400 series is currently represented by four chips designed to perform a series of tasks in various devices.
The QCS403 and QCS404 models are designed foruse in voice assistants and devices in which they are installed. The QCS403 chip is equipped with two cores, and the QCS404 - four. The processor clock frequency is 1.4 GHz, and they support Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1 and Zigbee technology.
Model QCS405 is designed for soundbars andhome theaters, and QCS407 will be installed in AV-receivers. Both chips have 4-core AIE-processors (Artificial Intelligence Edition), a graphics accelerator Adreno 306 and a digital signal processor Qualcomm Hexagon. Model QCS407 supports up to 32 audio channels, and all the rest up to 12.
According to the developers, the chips for audio systemsThe QCS400 model range provides a faster response to a command with voice and maintains high sound quality even in rooms with extraneous noise. The chips are compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS: X - surround sound formats that mimic the cinematic effect. Optimization of energy consumption increases the battery life of devices, and the presence of multi-channel connectivity will allow the use of a larger number of speakers.
