Single-board Orange Pi Zero 2 will compete with the Raspberry Pi (2 photos)


In the near future, a miniature computer RaspberryPi risks losing monopoly in the market for single-board computing devices. The Chinese company Shenzhen Xunlong introduced a single-board Orange Pi Zero 2, designed to compete with the brainchild of English developers from the Raspberry Pi Foundation.

Specifications of the Chinese deviceslightly lower than the Raspberry Pi 4 model announced this summer, however, the geometric dimensions of the “Chinese” make it the most compact computer in the world. The beginner's parameters are 55 x 55 mm, while the weight of the computer is only 34 grams. It is also expected that Orange Pi Zero 2 will be significantly cheaper than its English competitor.


Computer hardware Orange Pi Zero 2runs on an Allwinner H6 processor with four Cortex-A53 cores, using a 64-bit protocol. The Mali-T720 graphics processor supports OpenGL ES3.1 / 3.0 / 2.0 / 1.1, Microsoft DirectX 11 FL9_3. The system supports the operation of video decoders H265 / HEVC (4K at 60 frames per second or 6K at 30), H264 / ACV (up to 4K at 30 frames per second), VP9 (up to 4K at 30 frames per second), AVS + / AVS (up to 1080p at 60 frames per second).

The new computer has 512 MB of RAMLPDDR3 standard, and for data storage, an eMMC flash module with a capacity of 4 GB is used, and you can additionally install microSD up to 32 GB. The device has its own microphone, an HDMI 2.0a connector, two USB 2.0 and 3.0 format connectors and a micro USB connector.

An adapter is used for communication.Ethernet (10/100 Mbps), Bluetooth 4.2. and Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n. The computer has an infrared port, which provides remote operation using remote control.
