Segway previously announced release plansnew models of electric vehicles, among which the eMoped electric bike, codenamed C80, stood out. Now the novelty has been launched on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform, where literally in the first days about 350 thousand dollars have already been collected, with 10 thousand dollars required to start production.
The design of the C80 is very similar to the traditionalscooter, however, installing pedals puts it in the class of bicycles. The maximum speed that the eMoped C80 is capable of is 32 km / h, which will allow it to be used in some countries without mandatory registration and obtaining a driving license. The power of the electric motor installed on the C80 is 750 W, and the cruise control built into the control system will allow you to set a fixed speed by pressing one button.

The eMoped C80 control system isLED screen mounted on the steering column. Autonomous driving is ensured by a quick-detachable rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1152 Wh, sufficient for a trip of about 85 km. Safety is ensured by front disc and rear drum brakes. The EABS (Electric Absorption Braking System) converts the energy of the drum brake into electrical energy when braking.
The intelligent RideyGo system usesseveral new features such as NFC tag, smart seat detection and auto bike lock mode. As soon as the owner leaves the eMoped C80, the system automatically locks the e-bike after 3 seconds.
Also, the owner of eMoped C80 can forget about the keys, control is carried out through a special mobile application in a smartphone. AirLock systems allow you to unlock the eMoped C80 with one touch via the Segway-Ninebot App. In the event of theft of an electric bike, a special audible and visual signal is sent to the owner's smartphone, and the wheels of the C80 are blocked. The GPS sensor will track the stolen bike.
The eMoped C80 can be ordered on Indiegogo for a base model price of $ 1,900. The delivery of products to the first customers will begin in November. The bike will go on free sale at a price of $ 2,200.
