See how Cybertruck's main rival unfolds in one place

If you think the first electric pickupwas Cybertruck from Tesla, then this is not at all. Back at the end of last year, the Michigan startup Rivian Automotive unveiled the first R1T electric pickup at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The car received four-wheel drive, four electric motors - one for each wheel, giving it up to 764 horsepower - and is able to reach a maximum speed of 201 kilometers per hour. Novelty is able to accelerate to "hundreds" in just 3 seconds. As it turned out, these are not her only virtues.

Have you seen a lot of cars that are unfolding in one place?

How the car spins in one place

By applying a circuit with separatethe electric motor on each wheel of Rivian managed to distribute power between the wheels as flexibly as possible - what is needed for off-road driving, for which the R1T car was created. The manufacturer demonstrated the additional advantage of the four-engine system using a video on YouTube: the electric pickup simply picked up and turned around in place, just like a caterpillar.

Interesting trunk solution

The interior is futuristic, but without busting

It looks, of course, much more familiar than the futuristic Cybertruck. The power reserve of an electric pickup truck varies from 370 to 640 kilometers. Everything will depend on the selected configuration.

Perhaps due to the appearance of this pickup they will buy better Cybertruck

The main competitor of Cybertruck

Another interesting feature of thiscar - he will be able to charge his own kind with a special charging cable. And in order to protect the owners from embarrassing situations on the roads and increase the driving distance, the company added the ability to install additional batteries in the luggage compartment of the car.

The mass production of the Rivian R1T will go to2020 year. The basic version of the electric pickup will cost the buyer $ 61,500. R1T will be manufactured at the former Mitsubishi Motors plant in Illinois. Rivian bought it for $ 16 million. The capacity of the production line is about 350,000 cars per year, but Rivian's plans are somewhat more modest. The company intends to launch production of 50-60 thousand cars a year by 2025-2026.

It seems that R1T will become the main competitorpickup Ilona Mask in the next few years. Although the advantages of Tesla still outweigh: for example, one Cybertruck battery will be enough to overcome 400, 480 or 800 kilometers, depending on the configuration. Acceleration is also better - the older version can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in about 2.9 seconds. And the cost of the Tesla Cybertruck pickup will be 40, 50 or 70 thousand dollars, which is somewhat cheaper. Which of the two pickups would you buy? Share in the comments and in our Telegram chat.
