Samsung to cut smartphone shipment plan for this year to 260 million devices

Samsung has reduced its smartphone shipment plan for this year to 260 million units. Last year the company

shipped 270 million smartphones. The main reason for the reduction of plans is the uncertainty in global markets and the more cautious consumption caused by this on the part of buyers. Samsung originally planned to release 60 million smartphones in the first quarter, 53 million in the second and 47 million in the third. But plans for the second quarter were eventually reduced to 48 million devices, the release in the current quarter will not exceed 46 million devices. At the moment, plans for the fourth quarter are unknown, presumably, the company intends to produce 34 million smartphones during October and November of this year. In addition to the production of smartphones in their own factories, smartphones for Samsung are made by China Wingtech and Huaqin (JDM). The total volume of production, according to forecasts, will not exceed 261 million devices.
